Manufacturing Process of Maize Starch

Maize starch is made by extracting the starch from corn kernels. The Kernels are first steeped in water and Sulphur dioxide which helps to soften the kernels and break down the protein and fiber. The softened kernels are then crushed and ground to release the starch.

In order to make a bowl, two ceramic bowls are used as stamps for the “plastic” to get the right shape. Now, leave the mixture to rest for a couple of days.
